How Does The Diaper Bank Work?
Is there a cost for diapers?
Diapers are free of charge for all Diaper Bank eligible CalWORKs, CalFresh, and Medi-Cal families.
Who is eligible for diapers?
Eligible CalWORKs, CalFresh, and Medi-Cal families with children under the age of 2 are eligible for the diaper bank. Eligible families will receive a letter from SF HSA with instructions on how to participate.
Where do I get the diapers?
At designated family resource centers in San Francisco; the locations and diaper distribution hours are listed here.
What do I need to bring to the family resource center to receive diapers?
Bring your EBT or BIC card and a valid government issued ID card (e.g., driver’s license, Consular ID card).
What if I don’t have a valid government issued ID?
Call the CalWORKs Service Center at 855-557-5100 for more information. CalFresh and Medi-Cal clients should call the CalFresh and Medi-Cal Service Center 855-355-5757
What if I lost my EBT or BIC card?
CalWORKs clients call the CalWORKs Service Center at 855-557-5100 to request a new card and it can be issued the same day at 170 Otis Street, San Francisco, CA 94103. CalFresh and Medi-Cal clients call the CalFresh and Medi-Cal Service Center 855-355-5757 to request a new card and it can be issued the same day at 1235 Mission Street, San Francisco 94103.
What if I cannot come in person to a distribution site?
Participants can designate another individual to collect diapers on their behalf. Contact your preferred distribution location and ask for an SFDB Designee Form - available in English, Spanish, and Chinese.
What if I am on Cal-Learn?
If you are on Cal-Learn and have a child under age 2, you are eligible for diapers. Bring your eligibility letter to a participating family resource center during diaper distribution hours.
How many diapers will I get?
Each eligible child may receive up to 2 cases of diapers each month.

Will participating in the Diaper Bank reduce my monthly food and cash assistance benefits?
No. Participation in the Diaper Bank will not reduce monthly benefit amounts for food or cash assistance.
What brand of diapers will I receive?
We proudly distribute ELO Baby (rhymes with “hello”), our own private label diaper. Our premium diapers are produced in an ISO 14001 : 2015 certified North American diaper factory, alongside many popular U.S. diaper brands. In addition to our supplier’s rigorous internal quality controls, we conduct independent laboratory testing for extra peace of mind.
We only distribute products we would use for our own children and families.

Have a soft inner liner, which is gentle on skin;
Have a wetness indicator that turns blue when it's time for a change;
Provide excellent leakage protection for day and night; up to 12 hours of protection
