HEAD START CURRICULUM
All CSB centers implement the Creative Curriculum. The research-based curriculum, informs us of how children develop and learn, promotes positive learning environments, incorporates project-based learning, partners with families and clarifies the teacher’s role as the facilitator and partner in the child’s learning. The environment (indoor and outdoor), choice and implementation of activities, and child guidance strategies are designed to maximize opportunities for each child to develop social and cultural competence. This hands-on curriculum ensures each child is ready for school by the time the transition to kindergarten takes place.
EARLY HEAD START
The Early Head Start program serves low-income pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers from birth to age 3. This high-quality program is designed to support and nurture healthy attachments between the child and his/ her family. Services are provided in developmentally appropriate environments that promote the whole development of the child. CSB caregivers are permitted staff who have additional training in PITC (Program for Infant and Toddler Care giving) and infant and toddler development. Formula and diapering supplies are provided to every family in the program.
DURATION OF THE PROGRAM
The majority of CSB centers provide full-day, full-year care. Some centers and classrooms provide part/day and part-year services.
HOURS OF THE PROGRAM
The Part-time day program hours of operation are 8-11:30AM or 1-4:30PM. Families who are working or attending training, full-day care is offered from 7:00AM-5:30 PM, with hours based on determined need.
