Acta Non Verba: Youth Urban Farm Project offers vital services in education, childcare, economic empowerment, and access to green, safe spaces and healthy food to a community solely lacking in these areas. The camp serves low-income African-American and Latino children in a community where local schools, Acorn Woodland and Encompass, report that 99% of their students qualify for free and reduced school lunches. Only 60% of residents in the zip code are high school graduates or higher; only 7% have a Bachelor's degree or higher.

Camp ANV - Fall and Winter HoliDay CAMP
Location: Sheffield Village Recreation Center - 247 Marlow Drive, Oakland
Fee: Fall - $360/session per camper; Winter- $600/session per camper (Camperships are available upon request. Please reach out at campanv@anvfarm.org for details)
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 5:00PM *PLUS Before Care starting at 7:30AM and After Care ending at 6:00PM.
Camp ANV’s programming is created for 5 – 15-year-olds, but we welcome campers of any age! Your camper(s) will be placed into their age-appropriate group, where they will remain for the entirety of the session.
CAMPERS GET TO EXPERIENCE: Art, Dance, Cooking, Farming, Archery, FIELD TRIPS, and more!!!
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Spend time gardening in our farm in Tassafaronga Park!

Our After School Program will run from September 7 – May 20, Mondays – Fridays, end of school day – 6:00 pm at Tassafaronga Recreation Center (975 85th Ave, Oakland, CA 94621).
ANV’S JUNIOR COUNSELOR PROGRAM
ANV’s new Junior Counselor (JC) program is designed to give high school students job experience in youth development! We aim for JCs to build confidence in their leadership skills and feel empowered to impact other youth, their community, and the world. Whether or not they have attended camp previously as a camper, this program will allow them to experience the benefits of camp, take on more adult-like responsibilities, and learn to lead. Thus, they will be prepared to apply for Camp Counselor positions at Camp ANV or others.
Junior Counselor positions are paid. During Camp ANV, each JC will be assigned to a group of campers and two adult counselors to work with daily. Once a week, each JC will be asked to lead a 30-60 minute session for their group; the JC will design the lesson plan with help from their mentor. They will also receive weekly career development workshops, in which they learn tips for writing a resume, searching for a job, and interviewing.
Once summer camp ends, there will be a JC Retreat, during which they will reflect on what they’ve learned through the program and how they will use those lessons in the future.
ANV Farm @ Tassafaronga Park
1st Saturday Community Farm Day @ Tassafaronga
Bring your creativity, skills, friends, family and laughs to our monthly Community Farm Day every first Saturday of the month from 12- 4 pm at ANV Farm in Tassafaronga Park. We always have a lot of work to do and can use your help. We also host exciting and educational workshops where you’ll go home with new skills and sometimes a garden goody. Learn gardening skills, get some fresh air, and kick back with other community members.
Volunteer today! Wear work clothes, comfortable closed-toe shoes and bring water. Refreshments provided.
