• The mission of the Asociacion Mayab is to create the conditions that allow for the optimal development of the Yucatec Maya community in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. Asociacion Mayab is a non-profit organization based in San Francisco California that provides Maya immigrant families in the Bay Area with Social services and emergency support promotes Yucatec Maya cultural values and serves as a bridge for communication between our community and local authorities ,consulates and Mexican Yucatecan goverments. Promotes participation exchange and economic development among Yucatecan immigrants in the San Francisco Bay Area of California and their communities of origin.Organize activities to encourage the development of and interaction between the Yucatec Mayan Community in the San Francisco Bay Area.Encourage and strengthen Yucatec Mayan Cultural values among interested parties. Facilitate the Yucatec Mayan Community's access to community's access to community and social services in the bay area Evaluate and implement solutions to fulfill the needs of the Yucatec Mayan Community in the San Francisco Bay Area.

  • SERVICES: We strive to connect the Mayan community to the housing, health, food, job placement and advanced technology we deserve. During  COVID-19, Asociacion Mayab  worked hard to protect our community against the economic effects of the pandemic, inviting families to collect food and bringing food  to many homes. We continue to spread awareness of the disease and connect our community to proper healthcare resources. 

    CLASSES: We provide activities that include physical, mental, and recreational activities and events that help to get together.  We hold classes including Zumba and Jarana. We also throw our traditional Vaqueria Regional traditional celebration, which allows our community to remember their roots by dancing. We celebrate important holidays like Halloween Dia de las Muertos, Day of the Migrant, Posada, Rosca de Reyes, Summer, Spring, Fall league. We prepare interpreters to interpret and translate from Spanish to Maya, Man, and other Mayan languages so we can offer our services to legal offices, institutions, and schools. Maya class will be transmitted to teach from a professional teacher from the linguistic department.
