VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN PROJECT: API Legal Outreach has spent decades working to end cyclical violence against women, children, elders, and more recently, those who identify as gender/sexual minorities. Our approach is twofold, performing outreach and education to identify and discourage domestic violence while simultaneously supporting survivors of violence through comprehensive legal and social services.
SENIOR LAW, ELDER ABUSE, and DISABILITY RIGHTS PROJECTS: API Legal Outreach works to both to prevent abuse towards elders and people with disabilities and to assist survivors of abuse. We work closely with senior centers, churches, and senior meal sites to keep our services accessible.
IMMIGRANT RIGHTS PROJECT: API Legal Outreach has been committed to the needs of the Bay Area’s immigrant communities. We provide a wide variety of immigration services, as well as educational workshops covering updates to public charge, fee waivers, and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). If you are in need of immigration assistance, please see our services below.
HOUSING PROJECTS: API Legal Outreach seeks to keep vulnerable tenants and homeowners in their homes through holistic education and legal services. We also partner with local community-based organizations to host regular housing clinics.
ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING PROJECT: API Legal Outreach takes a survivor-centered approach to providing holistic services to survivors of human trafficking. We seek to provide survivors with knowledge, representation, and support, with the understanding that our clients know what is the best course of action for their own experience.
YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL: Legal Outreach began the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) to address gender-based and dating violence in API youth communities. Today API Legal Outreach’s Youth program seeks to address these issues, as well as others facing Bay Area APIs through presentations, media arts projects, advocacy campaigns, civic engagement, community organizing, and legal and social services.
