CLASSES
- Toddler Yoga (Ages 2 -3): This toddler yoga class, intended for 2-3 yo kids, is a mixture of yoga games, stories, beginning postures and movement. The class encourages physical and mental development while introducing kids to the language and movement of yoga, with some laughter along the way. Parents will need to be nearby for wrangling and although you needn't participate, kids really love to crawl through parent down-dog tunnels and do more when their parents start bending too.
- Preschool (Ages 3-5): This preschool yoga class, intended for 3-5 yo, is a mixture of yoga games, stories, beginning postures and movement. The class encourages physical and mental development while introducing kids to the language and movement of yoga with a little laughter along the way. Parents can drop-off if child is at least 3, but not until your child is comfortable with the instructor and the class environment. If child is younger or uncomfortable, we ask that parents to stay in the room. The curriculum for the preschool level is a bit more advanced. A longer attention span and more fine motor skills are tested. But, if you and your 2 yo can only make it to this class, don’t worry, just come on over.
- Elementary School (Ages 5-10): No experience necessary. Elementary school classes combine yoga games, postures, and meditation. We incorporate more advanced yoga language and posture instruction at this level. After a few classes, your kids will know the names of many postures and will be able to show you the Warrior Series without blinking.
- Middle School (Ages 11-14): No experience necessary. Middle school yoga is more advanced than the elementary school level. We will take the kids through beginning postures, but will also do inversions - headstands and handstands, advanced balancing poses, partner yoga, including acro-yoga, and advanced instruction and break down of postures. Meditation, or simply sitting still, will also be part of this class level. Don’t worry, they’ll laugh and dance too.
- High School (Ages 14-18): No experience necessary. High school yoga is more advanced than the middle school level. We will take the kids through beginning postures, but will also do inversions - headstands and handstands, advanced balancing poses, partner yoga, including acro-yoga, and advanced instruction and break down of postures. Meditation, or simply sitting still, will also be part of this class level. Don’t worry, they’ll laugh and dance too
- Family Yoga (All Ages): Family yoga is an introduction to yoga class, with a mixture of yoga games, postures, music, meditation and fun. Our hope is that this yoga class will give families an opportunity to learn about yoga, to move, and to reconnect with their families amidst the hustle and bustle of our lives. The class will be very child-centered, but we hope to give the adults a good stretch as well. All family members are welcome to participate; we've got something for everyone and we really try to teach to the middle.
