Sausal Creek Outpatient Stabilization Clinic (“Sausal Creek”) provides services to any adult in Alameda County who feels that they cannot wait for routine mental health outpatient care. The clinic is open to referrals and walk-ins. Services are provided for people in acute distress or discomfort as a result of mental illness, difficulty with medications, or personal/family crisis.
Sausal Creek is a voluntary program providing a safe, respectful environment where people in crisis can receive mental health services. People can leave any time they choose. Our program is operated by Telecare Corporation under contract with Alameda County
in California.

This program follows Telecare’s Recovery-Centered Clinical System (RCCS), an innovative recovery framework that incorporates the latest research and evidence-based practices. RCCS emphasizes doing no harm and supporting and enlivening recovery. The recovery model incorporates such approaches as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), harm reduction, and other consumer-centered therapeutic interventions.

Psychiatric assessments by a psychiatrist are typically available on-site between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the week. When possible, please call ahead to confirm the psychiatrist’s schedule.
Referring agencies may call our main number at 510-437-2363 during business hours to speak with a clinician. We welcome walk-ins.
Adult residents (age 18+) of Alameda County who feel they cannot wait for routine mental health outpatient care. We primarily serve individuals without insurance or those with Medi-Cal or Medicare. Residents with private insurance are only seen under special circumstances.
