PROVIDE FAMILY WITH HELMET FLYER AND SHOW VIDEO
OVERVIEW OF INJURY PREVENTION AND THE HELMET SAFETY PROGRAM
One of the objectives of the Trauma Services Kohl's Injury Prevention Program is prevention of injuries involving wheeled activities. The Helmet
program is an important component of this program. The Trauma Services Department is working with the community to build awareness of the
magnitude of bicycle, scooter, skate board, and in-line skate injuries, and how to prevent these injuries from occurring. The effects of Traumatic
Brain Injury (TBI), for example, are devastating on individual families, emotionally, and on our society, economically. Trauma Services researches
available funding for helmets through various grant sources. Donations are often received from Children's Foundation through a benefactor.
Currently Cal/Nev/Ha Kiwanis is our service organization partner, and Kohls Cares for Kids, Kohl's Injury Prevention Program, our corporate partner.
