    Esser House, our residential group home program, is located in Hayward, California and serves boys and girls ages 14-18 years who require intensive out-of-home placement services.

    Esser house provides a safe and supportive environment for youth to obtain an education, practice daily living skills, address personal issues, improve social skills, develop family support and prepare for independent living. The program is time-limited and seeks to graduate participants to family-based or independent living situations.

    An evidence-informed program model is utilized that draws from research pointing to the lack of preparation foster youth have upon aging out of the child welfare system and methods proven to be effective in supporting their successful transition to independence.
