Our Services and Programs:
- Support & Guidance: We know what it's like to not have anyone to call. We're here to answer your questions, and provide you with ongoing guidance and support with a warm touch and a passion for helping.
- Training & Events: With a wide variety of trainings and workshops, you can unlock knowledge that helps your child thrive. With our events and support groups, you can build community that helps you thrive.
- Leadership Development: You can develop your leadership and advocacy skills with us. From committees, to councils, you can learn to use your voice to change the systems for kids for the better.
- Support Groups: Offered monthly, families of toddlers and preschoolers can drop-in virtually to learn more information about raising a young child with a developmental delay or a disability. Each month will feature an Early Start topic where parents and caregivers have the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences in a safe confidential space. (Offered in Spanish, Cantonese, and English.)
- IEP Strategies for Black Families: A 6-week series for families who identify as African American or Black. Each session will empower and educate how families can navigate the special education process and their child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) while being Black. (Offered in English.)
- Hablemos de Educacion Especial: A training series for Spanish-speaking families to help learn more about the special education process in an interactive and family friendly virtual setting. (Offered in Spanish.)
- My First IEP: A workshop for parents and family members who want to increase their knowledge on special education eligibility, how the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process works, and understand how to be a participating member of the IEP team. (Offered in Spanish, Cantonese, and English.)
