  • PROGRAM DETAILS:

    - A free energy audit and recommendations

    - The installation of up to four compact fluorescent bulbs at no cost

    - Weatherization for homes with electric heat.

    The EAP is administered by Alameda Municipal Power, who determines eligibility. 

    Alameda Municipal Power's (AMP) Energy Assistance Program (EAP) offers our eligible residential low-income customers a 25% discount on their monthly energy costs. 

    - The low-income discount does not apply to the Utility Users Tax or any other applicable fees or taxes. It is applied only to the energy and customer charges.

    - Customers who receive the low-income discount are not eligible to participate in AMP's EASE Program.

    - Customers who qualify for both the low-income discount and the medical discount should apply for the low-income discount as it provides the most comprehensive benefits. Customers may not receive both discounts.

    EAP Plus

    - If you’re receiving financial assistance from AMP through its Energy Assistance Program, you’re now eligible for EAP Plus.

    - Not only will you continue to get a 25% discount on your monthly bill, but you’ll also receive free home energy upgrades that can save you energy and money.

    FREE UPGRADES

    Through EAP Plus, AMP is offering these FREE home energy upgrades to customers enrolled in its Energy Assistance Program.

    - Refrigerator Replacement

    - Efficient LED Lighting and Occupancy Sensors

    - Advanced Power Strips

    - Home Weatherization (door weatherstripping, sweeps and thresholds; outlet cover plates and gaskets.)

    The Medical Discount Program:

    To reduce the impact of higher electricity costs resulting from operating critical health maintenance equipment, AMP offers a 10% medical discount (not including State or Local Taxes).
