Head Start
Head Start is a federal program that promotes the school readiness of children ages birth to five for low-income families by providing a learning environment that supports the growth of language and literacy, cognition and general knowledge, physical development and health, social and emotional development, and approaches to learning.
For 50 years, CFS has been providing quality Head Start & Early Head Start programs in Hayward, San Lorenzo, San Leandro, Union City, Fremont, and Newark.
Early Head Start Program
Early Head Start is a federally funded community-based program for low-income families to promote healthy prenatal outcomes for pregnant women, enhance the development of very young children (0-3) and to promote healthy family functioning.
Our Burke CAL SAFE Program
CAL SAFE provides expectant and parenting teens aged 13 to 18 with childcare and academic, nursing, counseling and vocational support services, which will allow these teens to complete their high school education and help them learn to become competent and caring parents, as well as successful, contributing members of society.
Our California Child Care Program (CCCAP)
Originally funded in 1980 through the State of California as an Alternative Payment Program, CCCAP now includes funding from four different program types.
